A Brisbane teen has been charged with making an alleged terror plot attack on a school in the city’s north.

The 16-year-old reportedly attempted to purchase a gun online, according to local media outlets. However, the Australian Federal Police () has not commented on specific details of the case.

The AFP said there is “no current threat to safety”.

Last month, a 16-year-old teen appeared in the Queensland Children’s Court in Brisbane over the alleged terror plot.

An AFP spokesperson confirmed the teenager has since been charged with “one count of acts done in preparation for, or planning, terrorist acts”.

As counter-terrorism investigators are continuing their inquiries, the AFP said it would not be “appropriate to provide further comment.”

The offence carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment under.
