Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking trial began this week in a New York court.
The 55-year-old rapper and producer was arrested and charged in September last year.
He was denied bail and has been in custody ever since.
Combs maintains his innocence and has rejected a plea deal.
If found guilty on all charges, he faces a possible life sentence.
Who is Diddy?
Combs founded music label Bad Boy Records in 1993 before rising to prominence as a rapper and producer.
Bad Boy has represented some of the world’s most famous rappers, including the Notorious B.I.G.
Combs has also acted in multiple films, including ‘Get him to the Greek’ and ‘Monster’s Ball’.
Charges
Combs has been charged with sex trafficking, forced labour, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

Federal U.S. prosecutors have accused Combs of using his “business empire” to cover up decades of abuse against women, “to fulfil his sexual desires” and “protect his reputation”.
He’s also been accused of using his staff to coordinate and conceal these incidents. It’s alleged these incidents were often recorded.
Trial
The trial began this week in Manhattan, with opening statements heard from both the prosecution and defence.
A jury of twelve New York residents will now consider the evidence before delivering a verdict.
The trial is expected to run for the next eight weeks.
