The shooter was positioned at a “vantage point” on the first floor of a building.

Police allege at least 50 rounds from a 30 caliber rifle were fired “indiscriminately” at members of the public, including people in vehicles, in their homes, and at responding officers.

At about 9.30pm, police entered the unit and arrested a 60-year-old man.

A rifle and ammunition were seized from the scene.

The man will face court on Tuesday. He faces 25 charges, including multiple firearm offences and 18 counts of shooting with intent to murder.

Police say a motive has not yet been determined.
