Locals and advocates will call for an end to the “violence against and murder of women in Ballarat” at a rally in the Victorian town tonight.
It follows the alleged murders of three women in Ballarat this year.
Rally organisers say “women are not feeling safe in our town”.
Hannah McGuire, Rebecca Young, and Samantha Murphy were allegedly murdered in separate incidents over recent months.
Police are continuing to search for Murphy’s body today, more than two months after she went missing.

It’s also been widely reported that Young’s partner had links to outlaw motorcycle club the Bandidos.

Earlier this month, 23-year-old Hannah McGuire was found dead in a burnt-out car near her home in Ballarat.
Police have charged McGuire’s ex-boyfriend with her murder. He will appear in court in September and is currently behind bars.
Additionally, McGuire’s high school announced it would hold a memorial for its former student after a “solidarity” march for McGuire, Young, and Murphy.
Community anger
Hundreds are expected to attend thetoday over the alleged murders.
In a social media post, organisers said Ballarat women “are living on eggshells”.
The event will start at Ballarat train station, and protesters will then march into the town centre to gather for speeches.
