Residents inDandaragan Shire have been told it’s “too late to leave” and to “take shelter” from bushfires.

say residents should seek shelter in a room with running water and a clear escape. For instance, residents should stay in a kitchen or laundry. Otherwise, residents are advised to shelter at a beach.

The coastal region is about two hours north of Perth. It has been under bushfire advisories amid out-of-control blazes for much of the week.

Those in surrounding areas have been warned to be ready to act if conditions worsen.

Local school Cervantes Primary has been closed temporarily due to the conditions.
