Fires have burnt through over 1,800 hectares since conditions intensified on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency warnings are in place for parts of Jandabup, Melaleuca, Wanneroo, and Mariginiup.

The Bureau of Meteorology said a combination of hot and dry weather with strong winds created unfavourable conditions in parts of the state this week.

It warned there was “very little relief” on the way and “no chance” of rain forecast in the coming days.

The heatwave is expected to continue into next week, with forecast temperatures into the high 30s over the weekend.
