Former Senator and journalist Derryn Hinch has died aged 82.
He began his journalism career aged 15 at his local newspaper in New Zealand before moving to Sydney to work for Fairfax Media.
Hinch was convicted on multiple occasions for identifying sex offenders whose names had been suppressed by the courts.

As a Senator, he worked to strengthen restrictions on people convicted of child sexual abuse.
He was inducted into the Australian Media Hall of Fame in 2018.
