Thewill publish new data every three months. It will replace the current system, which is updated annually, from mid-2024.
It’s aimed at helping governments and law enforcement better understand domestic violence rates in Australia.
Intimate partner homicide register
Intimate partner homicides are tracked by the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC).

The most recent data on the register shows that aby a former or current partner every fortnight. Approximately 60% of all adult female homicide victims are killed by their current or former intimate partner.
The AIC will continue tracking rates for the new register.
Government comments
Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth said the register would support efforts to end violence against women and children.
“Accurate, verified, closer-to-real time data will be crucial to our efforts and I’m pleased that this dashboard will soon be in operation.”
