The police manhunt for an alleged triple murderer in NSW

NSW Police have launched a large-scale search for a man alleged to have shot four people in the state’s Central West on Thursday evening.

Three people died of their wounds before they could be taken to hospital.

The 37-year-old alleged gunman, who was on bail for domestic violence offences, remains at large with a warrant out for his arrest for murder.

Police have confirmed the shooter had domestic relationships with the victims.

Shooting

Emergency services were called to a shooting at about 4:30pm in Lake Cargelligo, around 600 kilometres west of Sydney.

Police arrived to find two people with gunshot wounds, before receiving reports of a second shooting at a separate location.

At the first location, police found a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Both received medical treatment but died at the scene.

Police have confirmed that the 25-year-old woman was pregnant, though they have not confirmed if the alleged shooter was the father.

At a second location, less than a five-minute drive away, a 50-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were shot in a driveway.

The 19-year-old man, who was the sole survivor, remains in a serious but stable condition.

Shooter

Police have identified the alleged shooter as 37-year-old local man Julian Ingram, also known as Pierpoint. He is described as being about 165-170cm tall and of medium build.

He was last seen driving a Ford Ranger ute, believed to be a local council vehicle.

Ingram was known to police for “a long history with criminal matters”.

At the time of the shootings, Ingram was on bail for domestic violence-related offences.

Police have confirmed that Ingram did not hold a firearms licence, and it remains unclear how he gained access to the weapon.

Authorities have released an image of Ingram, and are urging the public not to approach him.

Local residents have been advised to remain indoors as police continue their manhunt in the area.
