Man charged over triple murder in south-west Sydney

A man has been charged with murder after the bodies of a woman and two children were found in a Sydney home on Monday night.

Following a Triple Zero call shortly before 8pm, officers entered a home in Campbelltown and found the bodies of two boys, aged four and 12, and a 46-year-old woman inside.

NSW Police Acting Superintendent Michael Moroney said "all three persons sustained significant injuries and it was a particularly violent crime scene".

Police arrested a man in his 40s at the scene. He has been refused bail and will appear in local court on Tuesday.

According to researcher Sherele Moody, 29 women and nine children have been killed in Australia this year.
