Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci has announced he is retiring in September this year.

Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci has resigned, effective from September.

He will be replaced by Amanda Bardwell, who is currently the Managing Director of WooliesX (its digital, e-commerce, data and customer divisions).

In a, Woolworths Group Chair Scott Perkins said: “Brad has led a remarkable transformation of the Group…history will judge Brad to have been one of Woolworths Group’s finest leaders.”

The announcement comes asof price gouging – which is when companies unreasonably increase the cost of their products. Supermarkets have denied they are price gouging.

Earlier this week, ABC’s Four Corners aired an investigation into how the supermarkets are profiting off rising prices. It featured an interview with Banducci, which he walked out of.
